How to Use the Knowledge Base
Configure your WriteCited knowledge base for maximum output accuracy and brand consistency across every article.
The knowledge base stores your brand context permanently so every article is accurate and on-brand without re-entering information on each generation. It is what separates WriteCited output from generic AI writing.
Fields to complete
| Field | What to add |
|---|---|
| Company description | 2–4 sentences: what you do, who you serve, what makes you different. Be specific — vague descriptions produce generic output. |
| Product details | Core features, pricing tiers, key use cases. Prevents the AI from hallucinating features or pricing. |
| Target audience | Job title, company size, technical level, primary pain point. The more specific, the more targeted the article language. |
| Brand voice | Professional / Conversational / Technical / Authoritative / Friendly. Or describe in your own words: 'Direct, no fluff, short sentences.' |
| Key terms | Proprietary terms with your preferred definitions. Example: 'AEO Score — our 0–100 citation probability rating.' |
| Competitors | Names to reference in comparison content, or names to always avoid mentioning. |
| Content rules | Global instructions for every article. Example: 'Always include a CTA to the free trial. Never claim specific ROI percentages.' |
When to update
Update your knowledge base whenever you launch a new feature, change positioning, or adjust pricing. All future articles reflect the update. Existing published articles are not retroactively changed.
